故事发生在清朝末年，大侦探福尔摩斯（范艾理 饰）和助手华生（许忠权 饰）一起来到中国游玩，投宿在仙来客栈。没想到客栈被官兵重重把守，一片鹤唳风声的肃杀气氛。原来，朝廷的一批价值连城的珠宝不翼而飞，负责护送珠宝的将军布克亦身首异处。于是，福尔摩斯和华生便留了下来，企图侦破此案。　　很快，现场留下的种种蛛丝马迹便将马贩子金马掌（王赤 饰）给牵扯了出来，哪知道仙来客栈的女掌柜白芙蓉（秀兰丽梅 饰）抢先一步向金马掌通风报信，当一行人赶到金马掌处时，等待着他们的只有空空如也的屋子和布克的人头。与此同时，白芙蓉也在暗中调查着案件的真相，并且发现，这一切似乎和汉奸杜文才有着千丝万缕的关联。

　　Cameras are rolling on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe for the tenth anniversary series of BBC One’s hugely popular Death In Paradise, making it one of the first BBC single camera dramas to start filming since lockdown.　　Red Planet Pictures have worked closely with industry bodies, other production companies and the BBC to develop a detailed Covid-19 protocol policy, implementing various safety measures including social distancing, face coverings and temperature and Covid-19 testing to minimise any risk of infection. There is also a full-time Covid-19 Supervisor on set to make sure the protocols are being implemented correctly and the latest guidance is incorporated into the policy. The health and safety of our cast and crew is paramount and production is working in line with the Guadeloupe advice as well as the industry guidelines.　　Returning to the sun-soaked island to reprise their roles are Ralf Little as D.I. Neville Parker, Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Tobi Bakare as D.S. JP Hooper and Elizabeth Bourgine as Mayor Catherine Bordey.　　As well as the usual baffling murders, intriguing puzzles and famous guest stars, viewers can expect some huge surprises as the show celebrates a decade as one of the most loved British dramas - and these surprises begin with the return of D.S. Florence Cassell, played by audience favourite Josephine Jobert. 　　在地处偏僻的大湾村有一座年久失修的破庙，这座庙一半用来供奉观世音菩萨，一半用来做小学教室。络绎不绝的香客和团团香雾常搅得学生们上不好课。老师白娜为此几次我村长，要求不能继续让观音和学生们做邻居了。可是村长认为，要使村子富裕就离不开香客们的香资。12岁的小姑娘海玲是学校里的好学生，她看见白老师为难，心里十分难过。一天傍晚，海玲和同学常小兔偷偷翻墙进庙，先用弹弓打，后用蜡烛熏，最后竟然把铁观音扳倒在地。第二天，常奶奶和众香客竟以为"观音娘娘落泪"，惊恐万分，邀请邻村的张仙婆来跳神，想听听娘娘有何仙示。海玲和小兔也在人群中观看，并商量出一个"以毒攻毒"的办法。清晨，在村口的大榕树下，海玲双手合十，双目紧闭地会在一块青条石上，小兔叫来了许多老婆婆，大家都说海玲是观音娘娘附身，海玲也装模作样地让香客们每人搬七七四十九块砖至南山坡建庙。虔诚的香客们连连磕头称是。自从海玲被观音"附身"后，她家门口经常有香客们送来的许多食品，海玲的母亲十分高兴。白老师刚填完海玲的学习奖状，听说她在扮小巫婆，十分气愤。鲁老师为小兔和海玲能想出这个妙计欢喜，叮嘱他俩对白老师先隐瞒真情，待庙搬走后再对她讲明。可是连同学们也嘲笑海玲是个小巫婆，海玲幼小的心中充满矛盾和痛苦。一个老婆婆硬塞给了白老师一篮鸡蛋，称赞她"观音娘娘能看中海玲多亏你教育得好"，白老师又气又急；正巧她的恋人从城里来看望她，希望她回城工作。白老师犹豫再三，终于决定要从封建势力中救回孩子。她不辞辛劳地找村长和蜡烛厂厂长说理。她的倔强与执著更加深了恋人对她的爱。海玲在白老师的关怀下将计就计，在一次跳神集会上揭穿了"姑娘附身"的把戏，使虔诚的香客们恍然大悟。
